A Brightly Colored HI!

Doesn't that just make you happy?

We have an UBER busy day today with the start of basketball for both my kids.  This is my daughter's first EVER game of any sort.  She has never been much into playing sports.  I'm really proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone and doing something different.  Then we have someone coming to buy her bedroom furniture and we will spend the rest of the day trying to organize those closets.  Tomorrow we are off to IKEA again.  LOVE that store.  I'm getting more organizational stuff for my craft room.  Crossing my fingers that my lovely hubby gets it put up next week and I can finally show you some pictures of it.

Anyways, in the midst of all this snow...which I LOVE....I thought I would make a brightly colored card.  Over at Die Cuts R US they are having a challenge to make something inspired by their banner.  I hope you can play along too.  They are also looking for a new Design Team.  This card is part of my entry.  Dare I say that I am trying out for it and not jinx myself....eeks!  But, it's out there now. 




Here's what I came up with:




Hobby Lobby was having a paper sale this week so I got a few of the patterned papers by My Mind's Eye.  I also got those chipboard letters on clearance.  They are fuzzy, flocked ones by TPS.  I think this card is sooooo cheery.  It just makes me smile.  AND I am LOVING my new, CHEAP light box.  I put a daylight bulb in there and it makes ALL the difference.  The link for how to make that is HERE in case you missed it.


 I'm also entering this into the Just Us Girls Challenge to use stitching on your card.  Quite honestly, Janome and I are NOT getting along.  I think she will go to my daughter and I'll have to buy a "real" sewing machine.  Maybe I got a lemon, but she often times sews "upside down" and then decides to do it correctly even when I don't do anything to correct it.  She will be perfect for my daughter to start out with and learn how to stitch a straight line.
