Pink Winter With Friends




When I saw this new image from DigiStamp Boutique I just had to get it.  It reminds me
of the two little girls I used to babysit in Michigan.  We still keep in touch and I plan to send this to them with a bunch of stamped images for them to color for Valentine's Day.  They love art!

  This card was originally for last week's Die Cuts R Us challenge 21.  I started early in the week working on it.  I think for some reason I wasn't supposed to finish it.  A sign maybe?  I'm not sure.  I was really disappointed though.  I had to reprint and color that image 3 times.  I don't know if my paper got mixed up, but each time my Copic ink would mottle and pool on the coat of the girl on the left.  I had to TRY and cover it the third time with some Prismacolor Pencils.  Then when I came back I had apparently smeared the wet baby oil.  UGH!  I also added some sparkle to the "friends" sentiment with an Atyou Spica glitter pen only to smear that as well.  My colorless blender pen is also almost out of ink.  Yikes!  Luckily oozak.com has refills AND super speedy shipping!

   My card is definitely handmade with all the mistakes.  Still, I know the girls will  feel very special getting it. Don't sweat the small stuff, right?

 On a positive note,  I was able to add burgundy to the little girl's tights and hair ties.  Therefore, I can now enter it into the JUGS16 color challenge.  Yippee!  Well, I'm hoping they forgive me for white instead of vanilla.




On another positive note, I have an announcement  that makes me SUPER happy!  I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Whimsy Stamps for the months of February and March.  Yippee again!  Their stamps are so fun.  I like fun!




 I'm soooo excited!  Makes me want to jump up and down!  I can't wait for you to see some of  the new releases.  Some are fun and some are beautiful.  They have a blog hop coming up at the end of January with some cute stuff.  I can't wait to see what's in line for February.  I'll keep you updated on that!

So Happy!

 Just a quick card today and a quick post.  First I wanted to share my news.  Yesterday I was the featured stamper on Color Throwdown.  I am so excited to proudly display this blinkie on my sidebar now.



 What made it even more special is that it was for my card from THIS POST.  The day we reached the goal for Priscilla.  I have had several people ask me about her and I will have a special post tomorrow with some words from Priscilla herself.

  My card for today covers several challenges.  I made it for a little girl named Bekah.  I learned about a card drive for her from my blogging friend Patti J.  You can view the details HERE.  I also made this using one of the sketches for Verve's release week challenges and a new challenge blog that I learned about through Tosh HERE.  I joked that the challenge that Tosh was heading up had too many things for me to remember.  FIVE to be exact.  I was so proud that I was able to remember them all, but then I realized I missed one.  The card is supposed to be square.  So squint your eyes and PRETEND 'cause I already had everything adhered when I realized this.  I also wanted to participate in the challenge at Paper Maniac LLC which is to use black, white and a pop of color.  I somehow managed to fit all these challenges into one card.  That is amazing for me. 




One thing I wanted to point out is that the Faux Silk technique was to used on one of the challenges.  I didn't actually do any stamping because it was a bit too busy for the card.  However, the white base of the card does have the tissue paper adhered.  That's why it looks wrinkly.  This is not one of my favorite cards, but as long as it brings a smile to Bekah's face I'll be happy.

I'm off to the doctor and then to get some Sculpey clay.  I need to make a HAIRY TOE:)  What's that?...I'll share later:)

Season's Greetings!

This is my second card and post for today! I made this for Taylor's Sketch this week. Obviously, I really loved the sketch:) This card was inspired by the little baby I watch. She has THE cutest outfits. This card uses the new ribbon I got from Taylored Expressions. It's a yummy blue/green twill. I really wanted to sew a black stitch through it, but that was too much for my Janome:(

I love this image that is called JACK and the snowman. So far, I have yet to make him MALE. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added stickles to the background to resemble falling snow. I also added it to some of the white polka dots on the base of the card. This also uses my Polar White Flower Soft and a little pom pom for the snowball. I pulled out lots of old things from my stash. Rub ons for the sentiment and the snowflake is a button. I added a Taylor's Tiny Twinkle in the center of the button. This card just makes me smile. I just think that image is so FUN and the colors are so cheery! Go check out Taylor's sketch this week. It's a cute one!

This Card in NO Way.....

......depicts that I am ready for SNOW! Nope! Not in ONE bit am I ready for it. However, isn't this the cutest card! I love the bright cheery colors and the image from the Digi Stamp Boutique is a must if you love to build snowmen and have snowball fights.

I really do love the snow. It is one of the things that I miss about Michigan. TONS of snow to build snow forts, snow men and snowballs. Plus sledding. We used to live in the country and could just sled down the hill in our backyard. LOVED it! Then follow that up with red noses and cheeks on my little ones combined with us sitting around the table with hot cocoa. THE BEST MEMORIES!

Do you feel this fun and cheery about snow? Here in Ohio the last few years we have gotten "dumped on." It just doesn't stay as long. It's sad, but we haven't gone sledding since we moved here. I hope to change that this year.

I made this card following Splitcoast's Sketch Challenge this week. I got my colors from that super fun paper by Cosmo Cricket. I plan to add a small white pom pom to her hand so it looks like she is throwing a snowball. You have to use your imagination here since I didn't have any little white ones...just green and blue. I also added some glitter to my snow. I am really working on coloring with my copics. So far, it's not going the way I'd like. I think I'm going to sign up for a class...hopefully. X (crossing my fingers).

Gotta finish up. The little one is getting bored.

Rubber Baby Buggy Bumper

Here's a quick card I made for the CPS Sketch this week. Their sponsor is Jillibean Soup and I am in love with this line of products. Fun names, fun colors, fun patterns. I would LOVE to win the random pick.

I needed a card for a friend who was gracious enough to loan me all her baby things. That is going to save me a bunch of money. Now the little one I babysit will be comfortable and able to safely travel as I take my kids to school tomorrow.

I am still working on using those darn Copics. I hope to be able to watch a few more videos and just practice when the kids are in school on Wed. Imagine, them at school and me home practicing my coloring:)

Child's Play

Doesn't that sound like fun? Make something for a child today as part of Stamptacular Sunday's Challenge. You could win some really cute stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps. My project is yet another photo album. This one is a bit different from last weeks. My daughter is spending the week with her cousins. She asked me to print out some pictures of the family so she could look at them if she got to missing us to much. Well, I couldn't just print them out. I had to make them into an album.


I used some chipboard coasters that I got HERE. I used a digital stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique. They are having a sale this week:) This little fairy is Lizzie. Her wings are colored with a gelly roll pen in silver. I used a combination of Copics and prismacolor pencils to color her. My daughter loves fairies and the color purple. I added some little Twinkles from Taylored Expressions around the scalloped image. I also used a silver star from my stash with a rhinestone added to cover the hole.

Here is the inside:All my pictures are printed on a matte photo paper, cut to fit and adhered with a glue stick. TIP: Before adhering pictures use a marker to color the outer edge of the chipboard to match the album. Yes, I learned this the hard way:(

I also made my daughter this little box. I will put candy in it for now. She can then use it for pencils when school starts. It's a recycled Blender Pen box.


This also uses a digital image from Digi Stamp Boutique. LOVE the images and LOVE that they are on SALE right now.

Fairy Wish

Sorry for the late post. I really thought I was ahead of the game for my camping trip. WRONG! Let's just say it's going to be a long night. I still have several things to get done. But, I really wanted to post this card since it's for 2 challenges and one ends tomorrow:) I got a few digital stamps from DigiStamp Boutique. This was a sponsor for our last Stamptacular Sunday Challenge and I REALLY fell in love with the images. Go check them out. So Sweet!


My card combines Jen's SFYTT and Color Throwdown 51. I've been practicing with my Copics. I would really like to get more colors. I think I'll have to wait awhile though. Just got the bill for them and my husband asked if they colored by themselves. Yeah! They are pretty expensive. But, I got one heck of a deal on them at www.oozak.com. Really, it's the cheapest place for them. Anyways, I had fun coloring the little fairy girl in. Her wings have Shimmerz on them. It's hard to see in the photo though. Ok, enough chit chat. I have to finish my packing and baking and shopping and....I'm tired already.
