Floating on Cloud 9

I made this card for Taylor's Sketch this week. It's actually the first of TWO cards I made using the same sketch. I love this little Gretel from All That Scraps. AND I love this paper by Cosmo Cricket called Earth Love. I mean, how can you NOT love a paper called Earth LOVE? I decided to add lots of sparkle to this card using several different forms. Dazzling diamonds, Stickles and Taylor's Twinkles.... So sparkly IRL. Thanks for looking!

A Weekend Sketch

Here is a card for Beate's Weekend Sketch 97. Of course I had to turn the sketch again. I didn't mean to, the card just looked better that way. I have started using my glue gun to secure my buttons on my cards now. What a "duh" moment. The ONLY drawback is that once it's down it's down. There is no moving. So that is why my second button is a little "off."

I used some new paper by Cosmo Cricket called EARTH LOVE and I got it from the new store in town called Paper Maniac LLC. Patty, the owner, was wonderful to work with in donating to my blog candy. Make sure you check out the store and the blog. They have a challenge every two weeks and you can win a gift certificate to the store. Woo hoo! Wouldn't take me long to spend that. Anyways, I love this paper. It so soft and soothing. I also used a digital image called Gretal from ATS. I think she is just darling.

I made this card for my daughter. She has just been so cute and funny lately. She is getting way too big. Sunday she decided that she wanted to enjoy the sunshine, but she MUST finish the last Harry Potter book. So she went out and sat on the rock in our front yard. The way she was hunched over reminded me of THE THINKER statue. That is a perfect description of her. She is always thinking, studying, learning, inquiring....etc. She is NOTHING like me:) I didn't get a picture of her in her "pose," but she let me take a picture.


I think she is definitely the "Queen of Cute."

Shape Up!

Do you ever get tired of just making the normal rectangle or square cards? Need a little something different to jazz up your day? I have to admit that I really like this card. It is just so FUN! It was very time consuming though. Let me tell you a little about it. I got the idea HERE. There is a link to a tutorial if you would like to learn how to make this SIDE STEP CARD. I also used a template for my clouds HERE. I know that seems silly, but that way I could figure out how long or short I needed them to be. I did end up altering them a bit. I traced the template using a copic marker and then cut them out. That gave a bit of shadowing. I then put stickles around the edges too. My sun was created using a Daisy 2 sizzlet for the "rays" and the largest SU circle punch for the "sun." More stickles:) That cute image was a digital stamp from All That Scraps called Swiss Pixies Gretel. I colored her with Copics and stickled her as well. I made that rainbow using a circle punch and.....you guessed it....STICKLES!
