Can you believe it is Wednesday already? WHERE is the week going? Sometimes the days just fly by too fast. I know you would all agree.
I have a "love" card again today. I'm very into the "love thing" lately. Mainly because of Valentine's Day approaching, but I am also surrounded by love. That's a GOOD thing.
I have a "love" card again today. I'm very into the "love thing" lately. Mainly because of Valentine's Day approaching, but I am also surrounded by love. That's a GOOD thing.
Two people in my family are getting married this year. It's very exciting. I also am fortunate enough to have a VERY loving family. So my card today is about love. It's about remembering when you fell in love. I hope to stir some of those feelings up for you if need be...LOL Be prepared for mushy, love stuff to follow:) Consider yourself warned!
Today over on the PWCO blog it's my turn to share a little inspiration. When I first received the stamp called, "Standing Beneath a Tree," I knew that I wanted to make a card with these two little love birds holding hands. To me the actual image reminds me of when you first start to date someone. You know how you are waiting for that person to hold your hand or that first kiss? So I forced these two to hold hands.
I still hold hands with my husband. When we go for walks or out shopping, whatever, we hold hands or link arms. It such a simple way to let someone know you love them. I have never understood why people stop doing that when they get married or have been married for a long time. I remember when my husband and I first got married and we were walking to the store hand in hand. Our neighbor chuckled at us and said, "Oh, that'll change in about 5 years." I remember thinking, " I won't let that change." I am so happy to say that 12 years later it hasn't and in another 12 years it won't either.
My grandma and grandpa were a great example of always displaying their love. Little touches to the face, pats on the knee... and maybe doopa (which means butt in Polish, which I am) ...LOL. They weren't afraid to show how much they loved each other even into their 70's. I think that's a pretty great example to pass on to your children and grandchildren. Of course it could be a bit embarrassing at times.
So I hope you take the time to hold someone's hand today. It's such a simple act to let someone know you love them and you are there for them in whatever way they need. It's ok, just reach out...grab a hold...and don't let them pull away. Because REALLY, sometimes you just need a hand to hold. The human touch is a great , reassuring thing.
Now to get out of the sappy post I found this story while searching for facts on hand holding:
IN ONE of my pilgrimages, we had an elderly couple who were holding each other's hands. It was such an inspiring sight to see them holding on to each other. I pointed this out to the husband, telling him how edified I was to see them so sweet after all these years. The old man looked at me, and with a naughty smile said, "No big deal father. You see, if I let go of her hand, she'll fall!"
I hope that made you chuckle!
You can check out more details on the PWCO blog about my card. However, they are 2 hours behind me in Canada. I am Eastern and they are Mountain if that helps. Anyways, it will be about 11am my time when it posts.
Also, I got so caught up in "love" that I forgot to mention that I used the Mojo Monday Sketch (kind of. Please allow me creative liberties) and did some stitching for the Just Us Girls Challenge too!
Toodles!
