Christmas with a Twist!


First I need to start my post with a bit of an explanation.  My card today doesn't really "fit" the challenge.  You see I had another project started for this.  Then the mini remodel on my basement started and some things got lost and I just didn't have the time to finish it.  I had already started this card idea many weeks ago and decided I would use that for the challenge since I was running short on time.  The challenge this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to make a Christmas card using non traditional colors.  No Reds or GREENS!
 
OOPS!  I noticed when I was photo editing that there were GREEN snowflakes on my DP and then it occurred to me that TEAL is really just a bluish GREEN!  Hmmm!  My excuse is the chaos of how things have been lately.  I've had a bit of a mental fog....well, more than usual for those that know me.  The story I am sticking to is that this is still not the TRADITIONAL green that people would use on a Christmas card.  I don't think it resembles anything I have TRADITIONALLY seen..........Did I convince you?*wink*

I love this card for the sheer combination of shimmer and grunge.  I've added glitter and bling and then distressed the snowflake embossed papers.  My ornament was also glazed over with UTEE.  I tried the cracked glass technique but it didn't crack much.  I also just LOVE the big shimmery bow.  I have to run out and get more of the ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  Crossing my fingers that they still have it.

I love your card. It's close to the blue family...Have a safe trip. You need to pass on your sage advice about staying close to home to my two adult children.Son lives in Arizona and daughter lives in Fl. I spend a lot of time in airports!
