I'm back!


What's the worst part of vacation?......

Coming back:)

No, that really isn't a joke. While I'm happy to be home, I'm having a hard time getting caught back up. You always seem to need a vacation after vacation. Luckily I'm a SAHM so I can take the time to go get food, do the mountains of laundry, unpack, clean the camper, clean the house....you get the idea. I am so glad I didn't have to go back to "work" too.

I really missed stamping though, so I had to make a few cards today. I have many things to share from my fabulous trip home, but not today. I'll be back tomorrow with some fun things that happened on my trip to Michigan...pictures included. You are NOT going to want to miss the funniest picture of my crazy dad:) In the meantime, I finished a card for Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge. It was a tough one. Honestly, I need to get some better photog skillz.. My cards always look way better IRL.


I used some retired Simply Scrappin paper from SU. I miss Wild Wasabi...such the perfect green IMO. I also used a butterfly from Unity that I got for free. It looks like the paper is wrinkled in the photo, but I actually pierced a "flight pattern" on the base of my card.

Here is the close up:

My butterfly was stamped on glossy cardstock and sponged with Rose Romance, Pretty in Pink and Real Red inks. It was tough to figure out how to get red on this card without overpowering it. I opted for subtle touches.

Stamps: Bevy Butterflies (Unity), Essence of Love (SU)
Ink: Real Red, Rose Romance, Pretty in Pink
Paper: DCWV Gray textured, Simply Scrappin kit for DP and scalloped edge, glossy, white (inside)
Other: red brads, sponge, paper piercer, dimensionals, black marker, button (The Paper Studio). ribbon ( American Crafts), red embroidery floss

I understand your feelings about vacation...there is so much work before and after that it's almost not worth the trip. Glad you had a great trip and welcome home!

Love your butterfly's flight trail. I got that stamp set free, too. Love those butterflies and love the KOM, too. And -- I, too, miss Wild Wasabi. Should've bought an extra pack of paper before they retired it -- now I'm in the hoarding mode. Great card for the challenge!
